Hearing From God: Day 52 – My Heart

Those that know me personally, know that writing is the way that I breathe. Yet, I was unable to write yesterday. My heart has been so heavy from the moment the verdict was read in the Mike Brown case. I have so much to say, but formulating what’s in my mind has proven to be a difficult feat. As a result I said nothing. All I could do is pray. Pray for my son and daughter, as well as for our sons and daughters in this world.

Not being able to sleep God placed as scripture in my heart. Matthew 5:4 NLT
God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

And still with this, I pause. Searching for the correct formulation of my thoughts. I reflect on what comfort truly means. Is it simply the removal of hurt or at least an ease of the pain over a period of time? Or does thus comfort mean that justice will prevail?

And still, I pause.   I can’t say when or even how comfort will come. But I know that it will. In the meantime, let’s hold our babies close. Let’s teach the about the love of self and one another. Let’s teach them that despite our visual differences, we are still one people. Let’s teach our children that an injustice to one is an injustice to all. In time, with effort, we facilitate comfort by instilling the concept oneness. We all matter. We all have value. When we realize this and act upon it, then we can change the world.

Wish I could have been more profound, but I had to share my heart. #WeAreOne

Love you, be blessed!

Hearing From God: Day 50 – Special Delivery

God is calling.  God is calling.  God is calling!

Often times, God will give us a Word to speak. That is not always easy to delivery. Often times, God will give us a Word that everyone is not willing to receive. With this knowledge, completing the assignment can become difficult.

Ezekiel 2:5 NLT
And whether they listen or refuse to listen—for remember, they are rebels—at least they will know they have had a prophet among them.

Ezekiel 2:7 NLT
You must give them my messages whether they listen or not. But they won’t listen, for they are completely rebellious!

What to keep in mind during these times our job is to complete the task at hand. Whether people heed to these Words is not our concern.  God, has a purpose for everything that He does and says.

No matter how difficult the message, remember we are merely the postal carrier. Deliver what is given and keep it moving. God will handle the rest.

Love you, be blessed!

Hearing From God: Day 48 Soar

With the desire and attempt to hear from God, we can’t overlook the fact that He also desires to hear from us. He longs to hear or praises and problem. But in telling Him our problems we don’t leave it with that. We speak with expectancy. Like David did in Psalms 3:1-8 NLT
O  lord , I have so many enemies; so many are against me. So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!” Interlude But you, O  lord , are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. I cried out to the lord , and he answered me from his holy mountain. Interlude I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the lord was watching over me. I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. Arise, O  lord ! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked! Victory comes from you, O  lord . May you bless your people. Interlude.

In your moment of weakness rest assured that not only does God see you, but He also hears you. Isaiah says it like this;  Isaiah 40:27-31 NLT
O Jacob, how can you say the lord does not see your troubles? O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights? Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

When it feels like your life is in a downward spiral, spread your wings so that God can provide the wind you need to soar.

Love you, be blessed!

Hearing From God: Day 47 – Opened Eyes

There is nothing like the promises of God. The passage that I was led to read is phenomenal. Isaiah 43:18-19 NLT “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Verse 18 make one reflect on the miraculous things God has already done for us. Still He says, that’s nothing compared to what I am going to do!  One’s spirit should leap for joy just considering what has already been done. But with the next promise our spirits should dance like David.

Isaiah 43:19 NLT
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

He challenges us to see what He has “already” begun. We must connect our spirit with His. Dive deep into His Word. Spend quality time in prayer and intimacy. Allow Him to open our eyes to catch vision of His promise.

GOD has something great, unbelievable even,  for all of us! Let us catch the vision and run with expectancy.

Love you, be blessed!
