Learning what your destiny can be extremely exciting. However, learning of the necessary journey is not always that exciting. In fact, if we knew everything that we had to go through in order to reach our destiny, we may never start the journey. We can handle the fact that we may have to get a “little” uncomfortable, but what if we had to be taken away from everything to get to where God created us to be?
That’s exactly what happened in Genesis 12. Most are familiar with the passage. Genesis 12:1 says, “The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.'” Abram, as we know, had an amazing future ahead of him. One the costs of this amazing future was separation. He had to separate himself from all comfort zones. He had to cut all ties to anything and anyone that would be a safety net for him. God wanted Abram to be in a state of total dependence.
The same would apply to us. He desires total dependence in order for us to walk in His perfect destiny for our lives. He wants us to walk away from our comfort zones and safety net, allowing Him to be its replacement. This can be a scary experience. The thought of take the jump or doing a free fall can a paralyzing fear, but we can never soar if our feet stay planted.
Take time to listen to God and His directions, and then obey. If we provide the jump, He will provide the wind for us to soar!
Love you, be blessed!
